Meet Margaret
With a background in senior living, a Master’s degree in Interior Design, and over 10 years in the industry, I have a unique perspective on design. I grew up surrounded by my grandmother’s taste for high-quality, and I later inherited many of those heirlooms. As I started to incorporate her items into my own home, I realized that their individual histories and patina added a dynamic layer to the space, bringing both personal significance and a sense of the past that is ever present in the world of design. I also developed an appreciation for the longevity of quality, well-made furniture, designed to last for generations. In an effort to take my understanding of carpentry to a deeper level, I have dabbled in furniture making and other finish carpentry projects.
DETAILS
I enjoy spending time outdoors, and my designs are heavily influenced by the whimsy found in nature.

Timeless Design. Authentically You.
What makes a design timeless? This word is tossed around in the design world, often without context. What does it mean in relation to interiors and why is it a desirable outcome?
There are two key components in timeless design:
Enduring Quality & Personal Style
Timeless design blends your personal style with lasting quality—so your space feels like you, today and always. At Margaret Winter Interiors, we believe that your personal tastes can exist outside the bounds of what is considered “in style”.
Trends are a fabrication of consumerism, intended to keep you in the buy-discard-buy cycle. These items are not made to last, and the poor design and inferior materials reinforces that sentiment. In a landscape of digital clutter, how do you separate what you truly love from what you’re told to love? Margeret Winter Interiors takes full-service design clients through a process of style discovery, intended to untangle personal passion and creativity from the forces of consumerism. Margaret Winter Interiors also offers virtual and in-person workshops called “Breaking Free of Trends: Discovering Your Personal Style.” Follow Margaret Winter Interiors on social media to stay informed about upcoming events.
BACKGROUND
While working in senior living (specifically dementia care), I had the unique opportunity to interact with residents in both old (medical model) and new (person-centered model) facilities. The different building types corresponded to totally different interactions and experiences with both residents and fellow staff. Intrigued, I conducted a study and wrote my Master’s thesis on dementia care spaces. It is undeniable that we have both physical and emotional connections to our environment. It is my joy to create idyllic spaces for people to delight in and interact with.
VALUES
I love to build working relationships with talented trade partners, skilled craftspeople, and artists. The time and talent provided by these experts is unmatched, and they represent an integral key to high quality design outcomes. I strongly believe in supporting these industry professionals over big box stores and mass-produced items.
